Frequently Asked Questions

So why just motorcycles? Can't I stick em on my car / boat / refrigerator / guitar?
The size, colors, and styles of the decals are chosen to work well for motorcycles.
But of course, you can stick them anywhere!

Stickers, decals, graphics, what’s the diff?
Yeah that’s what we say too. “Sticker” sounds like something out of a cereal box. In other words paper, eww. Our product is high quality vinyl. But you’ll still catch us saying “sticker”.

What are the graphics made of?
MotoGlyphs’ plotter cut graphics are high performance 2mil vinyl, designed for vehicle graphics and longterm outdoor use (8 years). There isn't anything better out there. Specialty vinyls vary in thickness and life, see the product descriptions for those. The vinyl used for the printed graphics is 4mil intermediate vinyl, and is rated for a minimum of 3-5 years outdoor use.

Do these graphics look just like airbrush?!
No. You aren’t going to convince your friends you spent thousands with forty bucks worth of our decals. Do they look cool? Yes they do.

How easy are they to apply?
The smaller the grapic, the easier it is to put down perfectly. Most graphics we offer are simple enough for a novice to put down right the first time. See our installation notes. If you are still concerned, get a steady-handed friend to hook you up.

How easy are they to remove?
Easy. Choose a warm day or heat the graphics with a blow dryer to soften the adhesive and make the vinyl more pliable. With a fingernail or the edge of a credit card, lift the edge of the graphic and remove.

If the graphics have been installed for over a year the vinyl will probably come off in pieces, and there’ll be some adhesive left behind. No biggy, keep at it until it’s done, and remove any adhesive with a citrus based cleaner such as Simple Green, Goo-gone, or Goof-Off.

Can I put graphics on my exhaust can?
Ahhh, the smell of burning plastic. No, you may not.

I just painted/clear-coated it. When can I stick on it?
If the paint hasn’t cured, applying on it might make a permanent impression on the surface. Just fine, until you eventually remove them. Find out the cure time for your paint and conditions. If you don’t know, then give it about a month.

Can I clear-coat over the graphics?
Yes. However, some clearcoats such as laquer can react with the vinyl causing blistering. Consult with a paint professional or do a test before you shoot.
